Welcome to Find and Feast!
This e-commerce site has organically grown out of our love for good food and drink. Really. We’re nerds for food and wine, and always have been. We dive into where the grapes are grown down to which side of the slope. We enjoy comparing last year’s vintages to this year's and chatting through the differences together. We love long, lingering meals that are the main event of a day, a day that we’ve been planning and shopping for all week.
Collectively, we have traveled thousands of miles in search of and research about some of the best food and wine that Europe has to offer. And we have been richly rewarded along the way, not only expanding our palates and meeting the fabulous growers and makers, but also digging deep wells of inspiration that fuel us to share our findings.
Hospitality -- in any of our roles, from server to sommelier to the people that might have to wash the dishes -- has never been a placeholder job. It has felt like what it truly is, a portal into experiencing the larger world in the best way we know how, which is to say, finding the things we like, the delicious things, and then sharing those delicious things with others. That commitment of connection through hospitality has spanned our bi-coastal careers. We all spent time working, living, and learning in San Francisco, one of the greatest food cities in America. We all found our way to Charleston, SC, working in some of the best restaurants in the city. And our same approach to warm hospitality with a backbone of intense knowledge and passion for our craft is what helped us connect and become AOC Hospitality.
You might know us from Stems & Skins, the little wine bar in North Charleston, SC that has quietly become one of the most heralded programs in the country. We’ve been nominated for two James Beard awards, named one of the “most important natural wine bars in America” by Food & Wine, and been included on Conde Nast Traveler’s “Best Bars in Charleston” list for years. Stems, as it is affectionately known around town, hosts pop ups, art shows, and weekly nights in the space, consistently welcoming the community. And once there, we make sure they feel at home and welcomed to become a regular. It’s been a winning formula for the decade we’ve been in business. But you know what’s also been on the menu the whole time besides wine and a good time? Tinned fish.
That’s right. Although the country is just now beginning to catch up to the pleasures and health possibilities of high-quality tinned fish, we’ve quietly been obsessed for years.
That’s where Find and Feast comes in. We have access to the good stuff, from olive oil to clams in tomato sauce to all kinds of other European groceries, and it makes our home-cooked meals and our bar/restaurant better. And now we’re ready to offer the same to you.
If you are a cook or simply an enthusiastic eater, then you know that sourcing well is the bedrock of good cooking and eating. Here at Find and Feast, we’ve done all the hard work for you (though we have to admit some of it has been really fun hard work). We’ve met the producers, toured groves and vineyards and visited docks, and slowly built our collection of “must haves” for years. Perhaps some of these groceries might become essentials in your pantry, too.
Nevertheless, per usual, it’s not just about the goods with us. It’s also about the connection, so we also provide custom bundles that can say “welcome to the neighborhood” or “thanks for hosting” with a selection of groceries and wine. We’re happy to be here and share the good groceries with you. Sometimes sardines and an some sparkling wine are better than flowers, just saying.
